PRE-SELECTED SUBSTITUTIONS ('HOLDING BAY')
For many basketball leagues and organizations, it is highly important for their statisticians to be able to pre-select the 'subbing in' player (s), the moment they approach the official table and ask for a valid substitution.
Synergy Stats now accommodates the so-called in the past 'holding bay' substitutions functionality, where a user can mark a single player or a few to be waiting for sub in.
Pre-selected substitutions allow users to click on a player's tile on the main scouting screen while collecting stats, which marks the respective player (tile) by coloring the frame in the team colors. When opening the 'Substitutions' screen, only the player who goes out of the games should be selected.
Pre-selecting subbing in players is also available within the substitutions screen.
Additionally, Synergy Stats displays a tag 'SUB' for the pre-selected players when hovering the mouse over their player's tile to facilitate the workflow. If a player's box is marked with 'SUB' it means he/she is selected for the upcoming substitution(s).
The presented workflow optimizes the click numbers when substitutions are in place (normally a breaking point for stats crews worldwide) and limits incorrect or missed substitutions in the course of a basketball game.
Hint: For time-out substitutions or multiple, it is better to wave off the entire lineup and to put on the court 5 players, instead of using the pre-selected subs workflow.
REPORTS POPULATE GAMES OFFICIALS' NAMES
Commissioner's and referees' (chief crew and umpire) names are now displayed in all Synergy Stats reports - Boxscore, Advanced Boxscore, Full Play by Play. Quarter Scores and etc.
They are located in the middle of the report's header, right under the game score and venue.
In the next release, the table officials and other personas part of the game staff will be displayed in the reports.
OTHERS:
- For stability and safeguarding the data flow, Synergy Stats now sends the foul data in 2 separate events, where the first event holds the foul type and the player. who commits it, and the second data - the rest of the information (foul drawn, number of free throws, foul subtype). The second event will update the first one.
- Update on the order in which the possession is sent by Synergy Stats after a missed shot is in place.
BUGS FIXED:
- A connection-related issue where if a user selects and opens a fixture from the list, then closes it, goes back to the fixtures' screen, and opens another one, was not loading the second fixture is not happening anymore. Synergy Stats works as expected.
- A bug where the user tries to access straight a game URL (not through the fixtures screen), the Synergy Stats app gets stuck on connection data, is now fixed, and as expected the user can log into the app straight to the game URL without this causing troubles.
- Generating reports problem, where the application was not creating the reports, is also fixed. Reports generation is flawless.
- The reason behind team Rebound selected (independent offensive or defensive) from the 'Rebounding' screen misbehavior is tracked and does not cause the application to crash and display a console error anymore.
- Bug, which blocked coaches' names to be displayed in the Advanced Boxscore report is also fixed
